Description
How to use it: Fall Floor Maze
In short: printable cards that become a walkable maze on the classroom floor. Ages 3-9. PDF download – prints on US Letter or A4.
A maze on paper takes a pencil. A maze on the floor takes a whole body – and that is the difference children feel immediately. You lay the cards out, set the route, and the group walks, hops or tiptoes their way through an autumn path. It buys you fifteen minutes of movement without leaving the room.
What is included
- Printable path cards with an autumn theme
- A layout you can make longer, shorter or more twisted
- Works on carpet or hard floor
- Reusable if you laminate the cards
| Ages | 3-9 (preschool through grade 3) |
|---|---|
| Space | Any clear floor area – a rug corner is enough |
| Prep | Print, cut, lay out. Laminate to reuse all season |
| Format | PDF – prints on US Letter or A4 |
When to use it
- Movement breaks and indoor recess
- Rainy fall days when outdoor play is cancelled
- Gross motor and balance practice
- Transitions – walking the maze to line up works surprisingly well
Teacher tip: tape the cards down with painters tape. Loose paper on a smooth floor and running children are not a good combination.
Questions teachers ask
How much floor space do I need?
You decide – the path can be a tight spiral in one corner or stretched down a hallway.
Do I have to laminate it?
Not at all, but laminated cards will last the whole fall instead of one afternoon.
Can I print it every year?
Yes. Your license covers unlimited printing for your own classroom or family.
